TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF SPORTS OFFICIALS
DALLAS AREA CHAPTER
CONSTITUTION

ARTICLE 1 – NAME

(1) This organization shall be called the Dallas Area Chapter of the Texas Association of Sports Officials, a Texas non-profit corporation.

(2) This organization, hereinafter, shall be referred to as the Chapter.

(3) Texas Association of Sports Officials hereinafter, shall be referred to as TASO.

ARTICLE II – PURPOSE

(1) To provide trained, experienced, and capable soccer referees whose integrity and professionalism is above reproach.

(2) To be actively involved and engaged in officiating high school soccer matched in Texas.

(3) To foster the highest standard of ethics, encourage fair play and sportsmanship, and strive for closer cooperation and better understanding among referees, school officials, sponsors, managers, coaches, players, fans and the press.

ARTICLE III – GEOGRAPHICAL AREA COVERED

The geographical area to be covered will be, but not limited to Dallas, Collin, Rockwall, and Grayson counties, Texas.

ARTICLE IV – CHAPTER OFFICERS

(1) The elected officers of this Chapter will be:

a. President

b. First Vice President

c. Second Vice President

d. Secretary

e. Treasurer

(2) The officers shall hold office as provided in the By-Laws.

(3) The five (5) elected officers shall make up the Executive Committee, which shall serve as the governing body of the Chapter.

(4) A member of the Executive Committee cannot be a paid assignor for the Chapter.

ARTICLE V – AMENDMENTS TO THE CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS

The Chapter Constitution and By-Laws may be amended only at the first general membership meeting of the year, provided that a quorum is present and the proposed amendments are presented in writing before that meeting.

ARTICLE VI – QUORUM

A quorum for transacting Chapter business shall require 20% of members in good standing for general meetings or mail ballots. An affirmative majority vote of the membership constitutes a legal and binding decision.
